It is time to be ALL that you are at work... and in life!

heart-centred women in hr and leadership at bloom irl

Hello beautiful human

Thank you for being here. If you are reading this post, my guess is that you are a heart-led human, perhaps even a heart-led woman in HR.

What do I mean by heart-led?

I mean you have spent your whole life feeling things deeply, tangibly aware of the emotions of others. Part of the reason you perhaps ‘fell into’ People or Talent is the fact that you want to make the world a better place for the humans within it. You want to see people win.

I want to encourage you to make 2024 the year you embrace and set your heart free to be as big as it wants to be… which is HUGE.

It is time to nope to the old methods in 2024.

The old methods are things like:

🫠 Shrinking ourself to try to be what we think others need us to be

🫠 Muting our intuition and working in a way that feels out of alignment

🫠 Silencing our voice and holding back

Instead, we embrace the new methods of:

🤩 Embracing our heart-led approach as our superpower

🤩 Becoming the leader that our company needs to guide it to growth

🤩 Working in alignment with our values and speaking up

Relationships at work lie at the heart of what it means to get to live in the new methods.

Make this the year you embrace your role as an enabler of a heart-led approach within your organisation.

When it comes to relationships, I like to look to a diverse range of thinkers on the topic, and Terry Real is one of those. His specialism is in more of the personal relationship realm, but for me, all relationships matter.

I love this model from him when it comes to assessing how we show up in our relationships. We all have an unhealthy place we are more likely to go.

For me, I can easily go down and to the right. I place myself as less than others and get stuck there. I worked hard to overcome this at work, but when I am feeling wonky, it is still the place I am more likely to go - my marriage showed me that!

Learning this work was a big part of me learning how to pull myself back into a healthy place.

My guess is that many of you have also struggled a little with self esteem, and you likely find that you go to a similar place. If you want to try Terry's quiz, here's the link.

If you are someone who is more likely to default to ‘less than’, some of the hardest people for you to relate to are the ones that go to a place of grandiosity, or better than.

First, I want to make it clear that whether your place is ‘less than’ or ‘better than’, both have their foundation in self esteem, they just manifest differently.

The goal for all of us is to learn how to notice when we go to our unhealthy place, and learn the methods that will pull us back into a healthy middle - which is neither less than or better than.

Side note: when I was in my deepest moment of self esteem recovery, there was a time when I sometimes felt ‘better than’. For low self esteem-ers, a little better than is actually an important part of recovery, before you balance somewhere in the middle.

Learning this work also helped me see the place where others go, and learn how to build a relationship with that person where we both pull into the healthy middle together more often.

If you want to get the chance to live the new methods of embracing being heart-led more often at work, relationships are a great place to start.
